Starting June 18, 2016, the Sichuan Science and Technology Museum which located on the central axis of Chengdu City has been closed for renovation. By November 1, 2017, this landmark building has been transformed. Li Zhanwei, a Shanghai-based instructor who has been involved in the construction and renovation for over a hundred days, proudly said: "The exhibition area of the new hall has been expanded from 20 to 22 and the products, which the public can personally participate in the interactive experience is increase from 30% to 70% ".
